This level of training is designed specifically for the person who is often first to arrive at
the scene. Many police officers, firefighters, and industrial workers are certified as First
Responders. This training emphasizes activating the EMS system and providing immediate care for
life-threatening injuries and illnesses, controlling the scene, and preparing for the arrival
